True Gospel Baptist Church
As a Bible-believing church, what the Bible says is what we believe. We do not add to or take anything away from the Word of God. So, what does the Bible say? You will find some of these answers below in our doctrinal statement along with the Bible references.
We believe in the verbal, plenary, inspiration, and infallibility of Scripture. The Word of God is divinely preserved in the King James Bible for the English-speaking people. (II Timothy 3:16 -17; II Peter 1:19-21)
The Bible says there is one God, eternally existing in three distinct yet equal Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Exodus 20:2, 3; John 1:1; 1 John 5:7)
The Bible says that Jesus Christ is eternal and was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary, a virgin. Jesus is truly God and truly man. He lived a sinless life, died on a cross for the sins of all men, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day. (John 3:14-18,
Acts 1:1-11, Isaiah 9:6-7)
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal with the Father and the Son. He came to reprove the world of sin, and to regenerate and to baptize into the body of Christ, and to indwell in all those who believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation. (John 14:16, 17; 3:5, 6; 15:26, 27; Romans 8:14, 16)
The Bible says that Christ died on the cross for the sins of all mankind and that man is saved by grace alone, through faith without works. The conditions of salvation are conviction, repentance, and faith. (John 3:16; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 6:37, 44)
The Bibles says that Jesus was resurrected from the grave, ascended into Heaven, and He sits on the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate. (Matthew 28:6, 7 Luke 24:39, I Corinthians 15:25; 42-44; 51-53)
We believe in the pre-millenial, pre-tribulational, and imminent return of Jesus Christ. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6; Psalm 89:3-4)
The Bible says there is a literal and eternal Hell and Heaven, and there will be a bodily resurrection of the just unto everlasting life and the resurrection of the lost unto everlasting punishment in Hell. (Luke 16:19-23; John 14:1-3; Revelation 20:15; 21-22)
The Bible says that all who receive, by faith, Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and are truly born again of the Holy Spirit are kept by God as the children of God and that they can never lose their salvation. (John 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-39; Philippians 1:6)
The Bible says that the Church is the body of Christ made up of all born-again believers. The local Church is made up of born-again believers who have been baptized by immersion since their salvation. Baptism and the Lord's Supper are the only two ordinances to be observed by the local Church. (I Corinthians 11:17-34; Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39)
The Bible says that we are to actively engage in carrying out the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15-28; Luke 24:44-49; John 20:19-23)
The Bible says that the saved should live a sanctified life and be set apart from the world. We are to separate ourselves from worldly and sinful pleasures and practices. (II Timothy 3:1-5; Romans 12:1, 2, 14:13; I John 2:15-17; II John 9-11; II Corinthians 6:14-7:1).
